Motorcycle Overview
1968 Honda CB450
VIN: CB450E-3004302
11,300 Original Miles!
The 1968 Honda CB450 is a unique transition bike, serving as a bridge between the first generation 1965-67 K0 bikes and the second generation 1969-74 CB450's that followed. While preserving the iconic DOHC engine and the chrome side panels with distinctive round emblems found on the camel hump tank of the first generation CB450 it restyled the tank itself and broadened from black tanks and light gray fenders to candy colors (blue, in this example) and chrome fenders, and introduced the twin speedo & tach gauges, turn signals, and 5 speed transmission found in second generation models. This singular year 450 is a rare find in auction sales today.
The example shown here is an unmolested all original and still in good condition after 58 years. It runs well and without issue, and the chrome and candy blue paint do not have any dings or scratches or flaws beyond the normal patina of old age. No major issues have been experienced by the current owner during the 18 years that he has owned it. It had 11,000 miles showing on the odometer when acquired in 2008, and after a complete maintenance and oil change has been carefully maintained and ridden sparingly since. The odometer currently reads just over 11,325 miles. (All maintenance & repair docs furnished with sale.)
