Motorcycle Overview
1973 Triumph TR7 750 Tiger
VIN: TR7RVCH27790
Triumph ran into teething problems in 1971 when they began production of their new oil-in-rame models with upgraded 750cc 5 speed drive trains, but by 1973 they had worked the bugs out and were again producing reasonably reliable motorcycles. The TR7 Tiger, with its single carburetor, milder cam, and broader mid range was a more tractable and lower maintenance bike than the more sport oriented Bonneville, and preferred by those who wanted a powerful yet tractable motorcycle oriented more to touring than racing.
This numbers matching low mileage example was purchased by the current owner in 2005 with only 8,485 miles on the odometer. It received complete services in 2007 at 8,950 miles and in 2013 at 9,540 miles, and in 2015 new tires were installed and the tank and side covers were repainted in its Astral Blue and Arctic White color scheme. The bike has been carefully maintained and sparingly ridden since, and the odometer currently shows 9,663 miles.
