Motorcycle Overview
1977 Honda CB550K
VIN: CB550K-2002895
17,473 Original Miles!
Honda's mid-70's middleweight offering, the CB550K, is a jewel of a motorcycle. Lighter and better handling than the CB750 while more powerful than the CB400, the CB550 offers both the timeless classic looks and the dependable performance that were the hallmarks of the 4 cylinder Honda offerings of the era. Equipped with the modern technology of the time, including a SOHC motor, a 5 speed transmission, and a front hydraulic disc brake, the CB550K enjoyed a five year run from 1974 through 1978.
The example shown here was purchased by the current owner in 2005 with 16,485 miles showing on the odometer. The drive train is all original, and the tank has been repainted emerald green with a black center strip and gold pin stripes. The exhaust has a particularly pleasing mellow motorboat sound, not unlike that of a vintage Chris Craft speedboat. It has been carefully maintained and sparingly ridden since, and the odometer currently shows 17,473 miles.
