1982 BMW R65LS. Newly restored back to original specs. This is one of the rarest and coolest of Airheads. A real collectors item and a pocket rocket on the twisties. Has a low seat height for a Beamer.. A partial list of work andor new parts Sealed Gas Tank New Fuel lines and filter Rebuilt Carburators Replaced Handlebar Grips Replaced Throttle and Choke Cables Rebuilt or upgraded all Brake Components New Rear Shock New timing chain and tensioner Adjusted the valves New Air Filter New Ignition wires Everything rubber has been replaced tires hoses grommets New seals and gaskets all around Cleaned and buffed everything Repainted Frame New OEM Hennarot Paint with clear coat New Roundels and stickers Receipts available.. Answers to questions There are no major problems with it. Its never been in an accident. The odometer seems to be a bit wacky its been replaced and seems to indicate that its going faster than expected. Its a nice little bike that is safe and ready to ride I had a certified professional BMW motorcycle mechanic do the mechanical work my contribution was mostly cosmetics.. The LS (Luxus Sport German for Luxury Sport) came in two colors Henna Red and a Polaris metallic gray.. Its ambitiously futuristic front fairing dual Brembo brakes and sculpted rear seat cowl made this bantam weight sport tourer one of the quirkiest and most distinctive Airheads ever made.. To help distinguish the bike it came fitted with stiffer suspension and a different carb and valve spec to give it an extra 5HP over the standard model.
