Motorcycle Overview
1983 Suzuki GS1100E
VIN: JS1GU73A3D2103756
From the mid-80's end of the naked bike collection, the 1983GS1100E was Suzuki's final expression of the Universal Japanese Motorcycle inline four cylinder era pioneered by Honda's iconic CB750K in 1969, before engines disappeared beneath yards of plastic fairing. Named by Cycle World as 1983's Superbike of the Year, the GS1100 made tons of effortless power at any rpm. It's DOHC, 4 valve per cylinder motor made 108 horsepower, which with its 5-speed transmission rocketed it down the quarter mile in the upper 10s and pushed it to a top speed of 149 mph.
The example you see here was purchased from the original owner in 2008, with 29,126 miles showing on the odometer, and was ridden only 250 miles before receiving a final service and being pickled in 2015. (A complete log of all maintenance and service since new comes with the bike). Finished in dark blue, with all black motor and carburetors and chrome black exhaust, the bike was sold by the original owner as all original, unrestored, and 100% bone stock. It is a nice well kept and unmolested example of a bike that made Suzuki a top performance bike as the naked era of motorcycles driven by fully displayed motors neared its end.
