Motorcycle Overview
1989 Honda GB500 Tourist Trophy
VIN: JH2PC1607KK000210
Honda's GB500TT is a limited production bike produced from 1989 to 1991. Designed as a homage to the cafe-styled 500cc clubman racers of the 50's-early 60's (think Matchless G80s and BSA Gold Stars), it derived its name from Great Britain and the Tourist Trophy race held at the Isle of Mann. Here is a classic reproduction of those hallowed 500cc single cylinder thumpers, but one that features modern electronics and does not leak oil. Built with all the traditional styling cues but endowed with up to date engineering, the GB500 has become a highly desirable cult classic in the enthusiast world of what has become known as retrocycles.
Built to emphasize balance and simplicity, the GB's lightweight chassis and torquey engine makes it well suited for back-road riding and straightening out twisty curves, while its retro design and contemporary engineering appeals to enthusiasts seeking a motorcycle with vintage character and modern reliability. The bike is powered by a SOHC 4 valve motor mated to a 5 speed gearbox, and is finished in Black Green Metallic paint with gold pin stripes, a solo seat, and clip-on handlebars. Rear-set foot pegs enhance rider ergonomics, while braking is handled by a front disc with a dual-piston caliper in front and a traditionally styled drum brake in back.
The first year 1989 example you see here has been ridden for only 3,370 carefully maintained miles since it was purchased by the original owner. Complete services were done at 600, 1,650, 2,775, and 3,300 miles, and new tires were put on and the bike was ridden another 70 miles before being put into storage in 2018. (All maintenance and repair records are included in the sale.)
In short, this is an all original one owner low mileage bike in excellent condition.
