The powerful, four-cylinder series motor delivers a huge 160 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 83 lb-ft at 9,250 rpm. • DTC (Dynamic Traction Control)

The BMW DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) system continuously monitors rear wheel traction under acceleration. If a loss of traction is detected, the system intervenes to control unwanted rear wheel spin. The DTC system is unique since it incorporates information from a lean angle sensor to optimize the systems performance, especially when the motorcycle is banked into a turn.

• Dynamic ESA

The BMW Motorrad semi-active suspension maximizes riding safety, performance and comfort. It monitors suspension travel via sensors at the front and rear suspensions and integrates other parameters such as speed, braking and acceleration to continuously adjust suspension damping according to the riding situation. Dynamic ESA has specific settings for rain, road and dynamic modes and it offers three levels of damping: soft, normal and hard.
