Motorcycle Overview

No other brand stands up to the success of KTM when it comes to enduro, and this is clearly evident in the biggest competition on the calendar, the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). From its humble beginnings, the ISDE has turned into the team world championship of the Enduro scene. This Enduro marathon demands as much from the bikes as it does from the riders, and every year, more than half of them show up on Orange. The 2020 International Six Days Enduro will be held on demanding terrain in Italy. No chain is stronger than its weakest link, so no compromise can be made for those intent on crossing the finish line. KTM, once again, rises to the challenge with the latest, limited Six Days edition of extra-tough machines. Easily identified by their special Six Days design, these bikes feature an extended list of top-of-the-line components, all specially designed and refined by KTMs own research and development department. These are the ultimate Enduro bikes for the exceptional event.

Engine & Exhaust
Engine: Compact dimensions with an unbelievable power output, the KTM 350 EXC-Fs fuel-injected DOHC engine offers the best power-to-weight ratio on the market. Its class-leading power delivery is available throughout the entire rev range and the light weight of just 28 kg, makes it almost as light as a 250, while offering power and torque closer to a 450 cc. With Euro IV homologation, its not only considerately green, but leaves the competition green with envy too.
Cylinder Head: The KTM 350 EXC-F engine is fitted with a compact DOHC cylinder head for optimal mass centralization while contributing to even better handling. The head configuration, with 2 overhead camshafts controlling the gas flow through the ports, promises outstanding, enduro-specific engine characteristics. The DLC coated finger followers, as well as the lightweight valves they actuate (intake 36.3mm, exhaust 29.1mm), allow for higher engine speeds, a crucial factor in the 350s dynamic performance.
Crankshaft: The KTM 350 EXC-F SIX DAYS crankshaft is located in an ideal position close to the center of gravity, contributing to easier handling. It utilizes a short connecting rod, which makes for an overall compact and lightweight engine with a snappy power delivery. A plain big (bottom) end bearing with two force-fitted bearing shells runs directly on the crank pin. The engines pressurized lubrication system provides the necessary oil feed for this bearing. This design has a direct benefit for the crankshaft with extended service intervals, which are lengthened due to the plain bearing. So just pin it, all day long.
Crankcases And Engine Covers: The design of the die-cast engine crankcases allows for a centralized shaft configuration, moving the crankshaft close to the bikes center of gravity. This means quick and agile handling. The engine covers feature an advanced surface structure to reduce the wear caused by the riders boots.
Transmission: The engine is fitted with a precise 6-speed Enduro transmission, with solid shift engagement thanks to a special low-friction coating on the shift forks. An advanced No Dirt gear shift lever design prevents mud or dirt build-up in the joint for trouble-free rides. For 2018, the transmission shaft gets a new bearing that has a bigger overlap in the cases. This means reliability even under extremely hard conditions.
Engine Management System: The state-of-the-art Keihin Engine Management System, with electronic fuel injection, features a 42 mm throttle body with separate systems for cold starting and idle adjustment. The throttle cable mount allows for easy access and a smooth routing of the cables. The ECU features selectable engine maps which are optimized to the exhaust, airbox and engine configuration, regulating the unique traction control and are activated by the handlebar map-select switch. It also provides different maps for each gear, according to the information received from the gear sensor, ensuring maximum power as you shift through the gears.
