ENGINE

The 450cc liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke engine is light, compact and features strong pulling power across the entire rev range. A high rev limit assists over-rev, further boosting the WR450Fs broad power character. Additionally, ECU settings are tailored to suit the specific needs of trail riding and enduro competition.

A Traction Control System enabled through Yamahas Power Tuner App communicates wheel slip to the ECU, tuning the engine to maintain ideal rear wheel traction. Three levels can be selected: HIGH, LOW or OFF.

The engine breathes through a 44mm Mikuni throttle body fed by a high-pressure electric pump to ensure optimum fuel atomization and power for a wide range of altitudes, weather and riding conditions.

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION

Striking the perfect balance of precise cornering performance and handling stability, the aluminum bilateral beam frame consists of more than 10 different aluminum components welded together with WR450F-specific engine mounts. The result is a light feel, great bump absorption and high traction, allowing the rider to enter corners with confidence and many line choices.

The industry-leading, fully adjustable KYB coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping provides exceptional balance between handling and bump absorption, and now features a new hand operated compression clicker for toolless adjustments. The linkage-type rear suspension uses a KYB shock with specially-tuned damping characteristics to match the WR450F chassis. Suspension settings contribute to a lower center of gravity for superb cornering performance and rider comfort in technical sections.

A slim, compact and flat body eases rider movement for improved control, including more seamless, rounded seat edges, revised side covers and narrow front shrouds. The rider triangle provides increased legroom between the seat and foot pegs for enhanced rider comfort.
