- Engine: The 250 SX is powered by a liquid-cooled, 249cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine.
- Fuel system: It uses a Keihin electronic fuel injection (EFI) system, which provides consistent power at any altitude and eliminates the need for manual jetting adjustments.
- Power valve: An electronically controlled power valve ensures more usable power is delivered throughout the rev range.
- Electric start: The bike is equipped with a modern and robust electric starter system powered by a lightweight 12.8V lithium-ion battery.
Chassis and suspension
- Frame: It features an updated chromoly steel frame with revised wall thicknesses and new engine mounts, designed to improve rider feedback, flex, and energy absorption.
- Subframe: The polyamide-reinforced aluminum subframe has been redesigned to reduce weight and increase durability.
- Suspension:
- Front: 48 mm WP XACT-USD air fork with 310 mm of travel. The forks feature hand-adjustable clickers for easy setup.
- Rear: WP XACT monoshock with linkage and 300 mm of travel. It features a hand-adjustable dual compression option for quick tuning.
- New radiator cap: A redesigned, threaded radiator cap provides easier and faster access for maintenance.

- Aesthetics: The 2026 model has an updated visual design, featuring a very orange color scheme with shades of blue on the tank spoilers and fork guards, a sleek black frame, and a black seat cover.
- Fuel connector protection: A new protective cap covers the CPC fuel connector to prevent damage, accidental disconnection, and dirt entry.
- Serviceability: Tool-free suspension adjustments at both ends and easy access to service parts simplify trackside and off-season maintenance.
