Motorcycle Overview
For 2026, the KTM 50 SX receives a number of durability and performance enhancements, particularly for its engine and suspension. Updates were also applied to the premium Factory Edition model, which features additional race-focused upgrades. The 2026 models arrived at authorized KTM dealers in August and September 2025.
Key upgrades for the 2026 KTM 50 SX
Engine and drivetrain
- Strengthened transmission: The engine has new, wider transmission shafts and reinforced internal components to improve durability.
- Refined exhaust: Both the standard model and the Factory Edition feature a new, more durable exhaust flange gasket. A redesigned exhaust valve ventilation system also improves reliability.
- Improved throttle assembly: A new stabilization cap on the throttle cable assembly extends the cables life and reduces kinking.
Suspension and chassis
- Upgraded WP XACT forks: The standard and Factory Edition models are equipped with an updated 35mm WP XACT AER fork. It features a new air cartridge and improved sealing concept for better damping and control.
- Enhanced triple clamps: The triple clamps now feature a 17mm closed screw nut, similar to the full-size SX models. This better protects the steering head bearings from dirt and water.
- Easier radiator access: A new threaded radiator cap design allows for quicker and easier removal.
2026 KTM 50 SX Factory Edition
The Factory Edition is designed for the most serious youth racers, including the same updates as the standard model plus several premium upgrades.
- FMF exhaust system: Features an FMF Fatty pipe and PowerCore 2 silencer for enhanced low-end and mid-range power.
- Advanced engine components: A double stage reed valve case provides better fuel atomization, and a durable Brisk Iridium-type spark plug is also included.
- High-performance clutch: Features a durable Hinson Racing CNC-machined outer clutch cover.
- Premium tires: Rolls on Dunlop Geomax MX53 tires, while the standard model uses Maxxis Maxxcross tires.
- Factory styling: Comes with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing-inspired graphics and an orange gripper seat.
