Motorcycle Overview
The 2026 KTM 990 Duke R comes with the LC8c parallel-twin engine with increased output compared to the standard 990 Duke.
- Power: 130 PS (about 128 hp). This is higher than the standard 990 Dukes 121 hp.
- Torque: 103 Nm (about 76 ft-lb).
- Engine features: The engine has increased rotating masses for improved rideability and a wider radiator for better cooling. It also features a PASC slipper clutch to prevent rear wheel lockup during hard deceleration.
- Exhaust: The exhaust system retains the characteristic Duke growl.
Chassis and suspension
- Frame: Both the 990 Duke and 990 Duke R share a new tubular steel frame with optimized torsional stiffness. The engine is a stressed member of the frame.
- Suspension: The 990 Duke R has higher-spec, fully-adjustable WP APEX suspension compared to the standard model.
- Front suspension: Features a stiffer, 48mm open-cartridge inverted fork with split-function technology and 143mm of travel.
- Rear suspension: A new linkage system connects the WP APEX shock to the swingarm.
