New 2026 KTM SX-E 2

The 2026 KTM SX-E 2 is an electric minibike for young riders, designed to bridge the gap between electric balance bikes and larger electric racers like the SX-E 5. The bike is known for its lightweight aluminum frame, adjustable features that accommodate a childs growth, and a removable power tool-style battery for convenience.

The 2026 model year for KTMs mini electric lineup, including the SX-E 2, was confirmed for a separate, later release during the summer of 2025, following the full-size SX models. The 2026 SX-E 2.12 is also confirmed and features some upgrades.

Key features

• Performance: The bike uses a maintenance-free 1.8-kilowatt hub motor, which provides a maximum torque of 50 Nm. KTM also offers an upgraded version in the SX-E 2.12 with a water-cooled permanent magnet motor that delivers 5.0 kW peak power.
• Battery and charging:
• SX-E 2: The standard model has a lithium-ion battery that can be easily swapped out to extend ride time. A full charge takes approximately 60 minutes with the external 500W charger.
• SX-E 2.12: This version features a longer-lasting 9.4 Ah lithium-ion battery, which can provide up to 100 minutes of riding time.
• Chassis and weight: The SX-E 2 is built around a lightweight aluminum extrusion frame, and its low weight of 27 kg (59.5 lb) offers easy handling for young riders.
• Adjustability: With two different seat height options (470mm and 500mm), the SX-E 2 can be adjusted as a child grows.
• Suspension:
• SX-E 2: Features a non-adjustable WP hydraulic fork with 90mm of travel and a preload-adjustable hydraulic monoshock in the rear with 70mm of travel.
• SX-E 2.12: Features a fully adjustable upside-down 35 mm WP XACT air fork with 205mm of travel.
• Brakes: Radial hydraulic 140mm disc brakes on both the front and rear provide ample stopping power. The hand levers are adjustable for smaller hands.
• Safety features: The bike is equipped with a rollover sensor that disengages power in the event of a crash. The removable battery also serves as an anti-ride device.
