• Powerful 890cc Three-Cylinder Engine

Yamahas renowned 890cc liquid-cooled CP3 engine is light, powerful and provides a thrilling wave of torque from low RPMs. A combination of carefully tuned induction sound and distinctive crossplane triple exhaust note provides a resonance which only heightens the feeling of acceleration. Throttle valves are governed by the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) system enabling finer actuation and precise control.

• Advanced Six-Axis IMU

The MT-09 SP features an advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that matches the base performance of proven IMU in the YZF-R1 Superbike. Data collected from the IMU and wheel speed sensors enable a high-tech suite of rider aids including a four-mode Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and a two-mode Brake Control System. Each of these systems can be turned off and Traction Control, Slide Control and Lift Control can have their levels of intervention adjusted to preference.

• Lightweight CF Die-Cast Aluminum Frame

The MT-09 SP features an advanced, lightweight aluminum frame refined to showcase the MTs signature agility. To ensure both straight-line stability and handling performance, the balance of longitudinal, lateral and torsional rigidity are all carefully considered and finely tuned. The frame is manufactured using Yamahas groundbreaking controlled fill (CF) die casting technology which contributes to its light weight.

• High-Spec SP Suspension

Premium SP-exclusive suspension brings Supersport-level handling and precision to the Hyper Naked class. The 41mm DLC coated KYB forks and Ohlins rear shock feature a higher spring rate offering outstanding stability during more spirited riding. Set-up can be fine tuned to suit a variety of different riding situations with the forks fully adjustable for preload, rebound, high- and low-speed compression damping, while the fully adjustable hlins shock is equipped with a remote preload adjuster to enable quick and easy changes.

• Brembo Stylema Calipers & Radial Master Cylinder

The MT-09 SP boasts premium-spec Brembo Stylema monoblock brake calipers paired with a Brembo radial master cylinder and large 298mm dual front discs for the ultimate in stopping power and finger-tip control.

• Five-Inch TFT Display with Smartphone Connectivity

Riders can link their smartphone to the rich, full-color TFT display via Yamahas free Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music (through use of an aftermarket Bluetooth headset, not provided). Additionally, full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Garmin StreetCross app to make each journey easier.
